For Pre-Burn Notification, Call 715.246.6131

Before You Burn...
  1. Call the St. Croix County Communications Center at 715.246.6131. Do not call back after completion of the burn.
  2. Make sure weather conditions are favorable (no wind or light wind that could affect nearby residents).
  3. Make sure the surrounding area is not tinder dry or capable of causing an uncontrolled fire.
  4. Fire should be at least five feet from any combustible material and all structures.
  5. Do not burn rubbish/garbage/trash, rubber-coated materials, plastic, leather or petroleum products or material containing asbestos, green or brown treated wood or any other cancer causing material.
  6. Fire must be attended at all times and extinguished before leaving site.
  7. Outdoor fires are subject to State Law, Local Ordinances and the Department of Natural Resources.
  8. Outdoor burning may be prohibited when local circumstances (thermal inversions, wind, ozone alerts and severe dry conditions) make the fire potentially hazardous.
APPLICANT IS LIABLE FOR ALL EXPENSES INCURRED IN SUPPRESSING A FIRE
THAT GETS OUT OF CONTROL
